At TTS we recognise that, for many starting an apprenticeship, this will be the first time they have ever had employment, or it could be their first time working in a structured environment. We know that this can be a steep learning curve for some new apprentices and can be a source of friction for employers.
We know from experience that the transition from education to the workplace is much easier if both parties are well prepared. This is why we offer apprentices and employers the opportunity to learn the skills they need to make the partnership successful.
As well as our robust candidate assessment process, we require all of our apprentices to take part in a one-week pre-employment ‘Work-Ready’ programme. Our Jump Start programme will make sure each apprentice is ready to start work by helping them to develop the skills and work ethic that employers desire.
As well as building upon ‘soft skills’ such as teamwork and time management, we will also provide awareness and training in various areas of health and safety such as manual handling, fire safety and first aid. By providing these skills we aim to make our apprentices a valuable member of your team from day one and will relieve some of the burden on you as the employer.
All that will be required of you, as the employer, is any health and safety training that relates specifically to your organisation.
You will have regular access to our dedicated Careers Development Officer throughout the apprenticeship who will be the link between you and your apprentice.
In addition to preparing our apprentices for the workplace, we can assist your existing team in preparing for the management aspect of an apprentice with our Workplace Mentoring Programme.
