It is a voluntary scheme that was developed by the IRTE, a professional sector of the Society of Operations Engineers (SOE), to raise standards and encourage industry self-regulation in road transport maintenance. irtec is regarded as the industry benchmark of skills and knowledge for commercial vehicle technicians.
TTS is proud to be the sole accreditation centre in Northern Ireland, as approved by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), that manages irtec on behalf of the IRTE.
irtec Qualifications Offered by TTS are:
• Large Commercial Vehicle Inspection Technician
• Large Commercial Vehicle and Bus & Coach Inspection Technician
• Heavy Vehicle Trailer Inspection Technician
An irtec licence is valid for 5 years and tests both the knowledge and practical level of an individual.
