Course Description

By the end of this training course, participants will have a sound understanding of:

Preparing the vehicle to carry children and young persons safely.
Conditions of Education Authority contracts.
Carrying out vehicle inspection and inspection of ancillary equipment.
They will also have an awareness of child exploitation and their role in preventing it.

Requirements for Booking

If applying for bus CPC, please note:

  • Course participants must make sure that their Driver CPC training covers a range of subjects.  Drivers are no longer permitted to complete the same Driver training module more than once in any five-year period.
  • Attendees should not have completed this module within the last 5 years. 
  • Attendees must have acquired rights (see explanation in FAQ section below) or already hold a Driver Qualification Card (DQC).
  • It is the driver’s responsibility to monitor their own total of completed hours. If you are unsure of your total, you can find out how much periodic training you’ve already carried out by using the Online Driver Enquiry (ODE) service at the link here.  You need to register to use the service and you need to enter your driver licence number and password to sign in.

If applying for taxi periodic training, please note:

It is advisable that Taxi Periodic training covers a range of subjects, but must include the mandatory Disability Awareness Course of a minimum of 3.5 hours.

Note: Our Customer Service and Passenger Assistance course includes the required mandatory minimum 3.5 hours of Disability Awareness Training.
